American's pilots say they just want to make the same as they did in 1992 adjusted for inflation.

That equals a nearly 50 percent raise that could cost the airline $1.5 billion annually.

The company says that's impossible in today's environment and instead proposes productivity increases that include more paid flying hours.

Now the pilots just need to get on board says American's vice president of employee relations, Mark Burdette.
