Why we chose it: Known for a faculty that mixes seasoned entrepreneurs with leading researchers, Babson fosters innovation in all aspects of its programs. "Babson sets the standard by offering real-world exposure, peppered with an academic experience," says Jay Kayne of Miami University of Ohio. Students can choose between a one-year and two-year MBA and courses are in the form of modules, which last between four and a half and ten weeks, and which focus on creativity, assessing opportunities and managing a business. The school even teaches a course on how to take over an existing business. Students pack the annual Forum on Entrepreneurship and Innovation, which will be held on Oct. 12 this year.
