Why we chose it: As an historically black college, Howard University is a training ground for tomorrow's minority business leaders. In 2003, Howard received a grant from the Kauffman Foundation to develop the Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Innovation Institute (ELI), which supports job creation and economic growth in minority communities. Howard is also a leader in teaching other black colleges how to teach entrepreneurship through research, symposiums and conferences.
