Based on focus groups, passersby associated the punchy teal color in the old logo (shown here) with marinas, thereby mistaking the sandwich joint for a seafood eatery or marine supply store. The tag line "Subs, soups salads & more" was bland and didn't help distinguish Submarina from competing sub shops.
