Interior design before Submarina's interior design was unwelcoming. The tables only seated two and the chairs were hard wood. Worse: brown carpeting, stained with spilled ketchup and drinks. In many of the shops, the seating area was not sectioned off from the ordering area, so that customer lines wove between tables.
