Summer of sequels!

The major Hollywood studios are making big bets on some familiar names. With Spidey, Shrek, Jack Sparrow and Harry all on tap, could this be a record-breaking summer at the box office?

Finally. Something that isn't a sequel!

A film about a rat living in a fancy restaurant in Paris may not sound like box office gold. Except for the fact that the movie is animated. And it's by a little studio called Pixar.

Analysts expect Pixar, now a fully-owned subsidiary of Disney, to continue its impressive streak at the box office. So far, each of Pixar's seven films has grossed at least $150 million in the U.S. Even last year's "Cars," which some felt was a commercial disappointment, still pulled in $244 million.

"The Pixar brand name is unblemished," said Pandya of BoxOfficeGuru.

Hopes are high for this film since it's being directed by Brad Bird, who was also the director for Pixar's "The Incredibles." That film is second only to "Finding Nemo" in terms of box office success.

As for the cast, the relatively unknown Patton Oswalt from the TV show "The King of Queens" is the voice of the main charcter, Remy. Other voices include Brian Dennehy, Peter O'Toole and Brad Garrett. And fear not, John Ratzenberger fans. The Pixar mainstay is the voice of Mustafa.
