Fast and high: First 'Vette ZR1 sells for $1 million

Results from Barrett-Jackson's collector car auction include the first new Dodge Challenger, the first new Shelby GT500 KR and a giant car-eating robot dinosaur.

Robosaurus
Sold for: $575,000

The pertinent performance figures for Robosaurus are these: It has a bite force of 20,000 pounds - sufficient to tear through cars - and a flame-throwing range of 20 feet. It stands about 40 feet tall and weighs 31 tons.

"You, as the operator, feel the thrill of tearing a car in half, incinerating it and throwing it to the ground in flaming pieces," says Barrett-Jackson's auction description.

Billed as "The World's Largest Robot," the 17-year-old Robosaurus has been used in shows throughout the world, according to Barrett-Jackson.

Various radio controls, touch-up paint, various transport cases and driver training were included in the selling price.
