Detroit Auto Show: Next year's cars and SUVs

These are some of the new cars and concept vehicles that will take the stage at America's biggest car show.

Saturn Vue Green Line 2 Mode Hybrid
The Vue 2 mode uses basically the same hybrid system used in the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid full-siize SUV, but it's been adapted to work in a small front-wheel-drive SUV.

It's expected to deliver a 50-percent improvement in fuel economy compared to a V6 Vue. That would mean about 30 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving.

Unlike the Vue hybrid that's currently on sale, this one will be a "full hybrid" capable of driving under all-electric power at low speeds.

GM also announced at this show that it expects to begin selling a plug-in hybrid version by 2010.

All three hybrid Vues - mild hybrid, 2 mode and plug-in, will sell together at Saturn dealerships.
