The guts Everything underneath the F-150's skin has been thoroughly re-engineered, Ford says. Its new truck frame is made from special high-strength steel. Under the hood, the 2009 F-150 will be offered with a range of V8 engines but no V6. Buyers will be able to select one of two different 4.6-liter V8s or a 5.4-liter V8. Overall, Ford boasts, the new engine line-up makes for a one-mile-per-gallon improvement in fuel economy.
