As oil and natural gas production expanded during the year, so did Jacobs's bottom line. The second-biggest U.S. engineering services company, Jacobs designs plants and does consulting for oil and gas companies. The Pasadena-based multinational also benefited from global expansion of industrial operations and power plants.
