Once I became a pop star, my father told me: "Son, count your own money before the professionals who say they do it for you." I've since added the words, "or pretend to every now and then." I also got from my father at an early age a piece of advice which has been commandeered word for word by the campaign of Barack Obama: "Yes I can."
