Despite setbacks in 2007, Dell's profits rose 14% to $2.9 billion as it beefed up its laptop lineup and brokered deals with big box retailers like Wal-Mart and Best Buy. But Dell's dependence on a slow-growing U.S. market could pose problems in 2008.
