The mentor: Diane Gulyas, Group Vice President, DuPont Performance Materials
Suma Krishnaswamy (left), a 42-year-old from Bangalore, India, runs a 25-person biotech company that specializes in developing plant tissue cultures and trading medicinal herbs and plant extracts. Lesson learned: To help her reach her goals - to create products that cater to the health-care market and to increase crop yields through modern and traditional cultivation methods - the India native spent two weeks at DuPont's research facility with Diane Gulyas (right). Gulyas's takeaway: "Watching this young woman in meetings with our CEO, I realized that there must be untapped young talent at DuPont."
