Unlike many of Russia's biggest firms, Sistema, a holding company for service firms run by chairman Vladimir Yevtushenkov, is highly diversified: The business operates media, banking and real estate operations. Sistema's strongest arm is its telecom division, consisting of Comstar United Telesystems and Moscow City Telephone Network. The companies helped Sistema hit $14 billion in revenues last year. Sistema plans to expand into India and is also targeting the silver screen -- the company announced in July that it plans to build a $250 million film studio in St. Petersburg.
