Yes, a financial services company that investors have found a reason to love. While most large retail banks fell prey to the sub-prime mortgage crisis, Pittsburgh's PNC got out of the game early, and only a fraction of its assets are now connected to the toxic securities. Thanks to its diversified book - PNC owns a third of BlackRock, another rare financial success - the company managed to eke out a 19% increase in profits last quarter.
