The McPalin sandwich
The McPalin sandwich
The Lion's Den in Anchorage used Obama's "lipstick on a pig" comment for inspiration in concocting its McPalin Grilled Pig Sandwich. The restaurant adorned the pork tenderloin sandwich with ears, eyes, a pipe cleaner snout and tail, and a side of lipstick. But don't try to order the McPalin these days. The independent restaurant is located in a Best Western, and Trish Keefe, who owns the Lion's Den with her husband, said the hotel manager had them pull the best-selling sandwich for being overly political. The Anchorage Best Western did not return requests for comment. Keefe said she understands the decision, but notes, "We weren't making fun of Obama, we weren't making fun of her. It was just fun."
