Life expectancy at birth: 79.91 years Just over the George Washington Bridge from Manhattan, Bergen has long been a destination for both retirees and immigrants, who have helped make it New Jersey's largest, wealthiest, and longest-living county - and one of its most ethnically diverse. Bergen offers a variety of housing types, from high-rise to suburban, and easy access to the Big Apple.
