Towns include: Fort Collins, Loveland
Life expectancy at birth: 79.7 years

They say love can keep you young, and to that end, Larimer County retirees have access to one of the most unusual volunteer opportunities around: the Loveland valentine remailing program. Every February, cards and love letters flow through the Colorado town, to be postmarked "Loveland" and stamped with a poem by local seniors.

For the rest of the year, residents of Loveland and Fort Collins stay young by enjoying clean air (the region is on the American Lung Association's cleanest 25 list) and general quality of life: Fort Collins was No. 2 on Money's Best Places to Live list last year.
