Bella Vista lives up to its name--"beautiful view," in Spanish--settled in wooded countryside dotted with seven small lakes. The town is populated mostly by retirees, who fish in the surrounding lakes (lake access is restricted to Bella Vista property owners and their guests). Real estate is affordable: a three-bedroom, three-bath house with a large yard and lake access lists for about $220,000. Shopping, dining, and hospitals are a 15-minute drive away in nearby Bentonville.
