Not to be confused with its much larger neighbor, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo is also a challenging environment for entrepreneurs. Investor protections are minimal and getting credit is difficult. However, the government recently reduced the cost of registering property; the cost of transferring it dropped from 27% of the property value to 17%.
