Founded more than 160 years ago, this St. Louis chocolatier is still winning critical acclaim for its gourmet chocolates. So what made President and CEO Ken Kellerhals think that a variation on the gummy bear could be the company's next bestseller?
The original intent, he says, was to follow Bissinger's antioxidant-laced Spa Chocolates with a children's treat with a similar appeal to the health-conscious consumer. But these gummy pandas, with their antioxidant-rich and organic ingredients, were a quick hit with sweet-toothed adults as well. Bissinger's offers the chewy little critters in Green Tea Spiced Peach, Blueberry Açai and Pomegranate White Tea flavors.
