Prescription: Focus on training, not loans

"I don't think much financial help will come to small businesses directly from the government. So the priority for SBA should be training.

In the small business arena, I'm not a fan of loan programs - they haven't been helpful. The SBA should get out of the loan business and focus on SCORE [small business counselors], small business development centers, and classroom training.

They all have a great ROI. The people who work there are paid by the SBA, and the business owners get trained across the board."
