A big reason there have been such significant fuel economy gains among SUVs has been the introduction of car-based crossovers like the Acadia.

The Acadia doesn't have the towing capacity of a truck-based SUV like the Yukon, but it has about the same interior space and it's more comfortably laid out. The Acadia rides and drives more nicely than the big truck, too.
