The Ram pick-up is one of Dodge's best-known vehicles, so Chrysler has decided to spin off the Ram name and use it to brand its entire line of Dodge trucks and commercial vehicles.

The line's namesake pick-up is set for a major overhaul in 2012, along with most of the company's other vehicles.

The company is also mulling an all-new small pickup, which would be designed around a car-like suspension system and chassis for a better ride, to replace the Dodge Dakota, which ends production in 2011.

Also in 2012, Dodge will unveil a new commercial van based on a Fiat vehicle to replace the Dodge Sprinter, which ends production in the 2009 model year. A smaller commercial van that would be built by Fiat is also under consideration for 2012.
