SAIC, which provides technology systems to the U.S. military and other government agencies, broke into the Top 20 on an 8.7% increase in profits to $452 million on sales of $10 billion.

Big defense budgets have helped drive profits for the company, which supplies the Pentagon with everything from advanced combat systems to port- and border-control technology.
