The 800-acre property has 25 pieces of John Deere equipment, including a fleet of nine off-road utility vehicles called Gators. The Deere devotion is not just for show. Family patriarch Jim Oelschlager has multiple sclerosis and gets around on a hand-controlled Gator. And the Oak Lodge workers use the fleet to maintain the estate. "It's really the guys who worked for us who were fanatics," says Jim. "But then, of course, they made us into them too."
