Reasonable housing prices and good jobs attract residents of Overland Park, located 20 minutes outside of Kansas City. Six major medical schools lie within city limits, and businesses including Sprint Nextel call it Park home. Overland Park has begun construction on a $36 million, 12-field soccer facility to accommodate local, regional and national tournaments. It's slated to open in September.
Overland Park also has a 300-acre Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, a children's farm, a convention center and a downtown farmer's market. The city is also the setting for the Showtime series "The United States of Tara."
