Protect your portfolio against inflation
Inflation is tame now, but it could heat up as the economy recovers. Reduce the pain with Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS), U.S. government bonds whose principal rises (or falls) with the consumer price index. Buy them fee-free through treasurydirect.gov or buy a TIPS fund with low expenses, such as Vanguard Inflation-Protected Securities.
