The Italian Fiat Spider is similar in character to the British Triumph Spitfire, and it's one of Fiat's best-remembered products, Hagerty points out.
Unfortunately, Fiats were not famous for dependability. It's a badge of dishonor that's more than a little unfair, said Hagerty. As much could have been said of virtually any European car of the era. A well cared-for Fiat could provide years of faithful service, he said.
