Wide-open space
A hatchback body style and no extra-big batteries to worry about means loads of storage space when you need it: 39 cubic feet compared to 12 for the Lexus. That's with the back seats down, of course, but even with four passengers, the Audi still has a 7.3 cubic foot advantage.

The A3 TDI is more practical and fun, but the Lexus still comes out ahead in the "green" department. According to EPA estimates, the HS250h emits about 15% less C02 and 25% less smog forming pollution, annually. And, given the relatively high price of diesel fuel, it's cheaper, mile for mile, too.

So, if it were up to me, I'd still take the Audi, but It all depends on your priorities.
