Mathew Tully, 36, lives in Albany, N.Y.
Name: Mathew Tully
My recession ended: January 2010
Location: Albany, N.Y.

When my law firm's revenue dropped 80% during the first three months of 2009, my business partner and I each invested six figures into the firm. Now we're back stronger than before and expanding. We added about 20 new staff members throughout our three offices in January and are adding another 20 in June.

The firm repaid our investments, and my family is going to Disney World and Colorado in May, and we're planning a summer vacation to Europe. If it weren't for a turnaround in the businesses, we wouldn't have the financial resources to do that.
