"These are higher-end princess dolls which could become popular collectibles," said Silver.

Girls can choose from Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, Ariel, and Tiana. Each 18-inch doll also comes with an invitation for the doll's owner to become a member of the Princess Royal family. By doing so, girls get a birthday card as well as a magazine.

But part of the fantasy is that parents can buy their kids a matching replica of the gowns their dolls are wearing.
