Polk
HitMaster Gaming Audio System
Price: $99

There is an intriguing new category for 2010: better audio for the Wii, PlayStation and Xbox. Play-along music games such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band are of course hugely popular.

But there is a catch: Sound quality on most gaming platforms is dreadful. So Baltimore-based high-end audio company Polk has come up with a neat solution: an all-in-one, high-end audio speaker and amp that jacks into most gaming platforms and pumps out a respectable 80 watts of powerful, darn good sound.

For gamers tired of Eight Days a Week sounding like it is missing a day, one of these units is certainly worth a listen.
