''It's become a destination for Angelenos,'' said Tami Semler about Malibu Family Wine's tasting room.
The winery produces a staggering 11 varietals from ice wine to estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Visitors can either sample wines in the tasting room or buy a bottle to drink on the property. Classic movies are shown outdoors on Thursday nights. And from Memorial Day through Halloween, live music fills the surrounding land on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
On a busy Saturday, the winery can attract as many as 1,000 visitors, said Semler, who is vice president of operations for her family's winery. "Every year, I keep on adding a bar."
