Lennon: Smokin', baby

A cool cat with his bowler hat and cigarette, John Lennon shows off the look that launched Beatlemania in the early 1960s. This and many other photos of the young rockers were taken by a German fraulein named Astrid Kirchherr.

Now in her 70s, the photographer is auctioning them off, along with the rights to reproduce them. Guernsey's expects the bids to reach up to $10,000 per photo.
