I paid no attention to the rumble that was building in the hotel driveway. I had been awake for 48 hours by the time I reached Tripoli and was overtaken by a haze.
When I saw someone dart across the lobby I decided to muster what little energy I had left and follow. There were at least 50 people gathered around a TV attached to the wall near the hotel's front desk.
Many dismissed what they heard as a rumor. It wouldn't be the first time a rumor had made the news announcing to the world that someone form Gadhafi's family had been killed. The fact that this time it was Gadhafi himself that was being talked about added fuel to the skeptics.
