Steve Jobs: Design perfectionist

Steve Jobs guided Apple's legendary design choices for more than three decades. Here are several of his lasting contributions.

Steve Jobs was wandering through a Macy's department store, admiring the design of food processors and coffee makers, when he drummed up the design for the Apple II. Like those simple household appliances, the 8-bit computer series should be encased in plastic, he decided.

In doing so, he established the general design for generations of desktop computers to come.
