After the holidays, visitors to New York can still ice skate in Rockefeller Center, see a Broadway show and shop the high-end stores on 5th Avenue -- but in January, tickets to events and other attractions are available at off-peak prices, most of the stores are slashing prices and popular restaurants even have dinner reservations available.
You can get to the Big Apple for a lot less, too. The average round-trip airfare from Los Angeles to New York City between January and March is $330, down from $484 over Christmas, according to Travelocity.
Everything from airfare to cotton clothing is going to cost more this year. So book your flights and buy your jeans now or else you'll be doling out some serious cash.
