Cisco Systems wants its employees to take stock in the company. The global networking leader announced last year it would pay dividends to its shareholders for the first time. That includes its employee stockowners, who make up nearly half the company's workforce. A stock-purchase plan also lets employees buy shares at a 15% discount, based on the lowest price over a two-year period.

Cisco also provides benefits including a 100% match for 401(k) contributions, for up to 4.5% of salary on pre-tax and/or Roth 401(k) contributions. All non-commissioned employees are also eligible for a company-wide bonus program.
