The company's headquarters in San Diego has its own fully staffed primary health center, with access to physical therapy, a staff nutritionist, health coach, and a full-time physician. All services are available for just a $10 co-pay, with no billing to insurance required.
The chipmaker for wireless communications also foots the dime for 100% percent of employee health-care premiums, and there are no deductions. Qualcomm offers long-term care insurance, as well as scholarships and tuition assistance programs for employees and their families.
Nearly three-quarters of employees participate in a stock purchase plan that lets them contribute up to 15% of their salary through regular payroll deductions to purchase shares of Qualcomm stock at a minimum 15% discount. More than 90% of non-exempt and exempt employees received a bonus award in the last year.
