Internet millionaire, Tom Gonzales, started putting together this compound of homes on Lake Tahoe in 1999.

Named the Sierra Star, the property consists of four luxury residences: the Main House, Lakeview House, Parkview House and Carriage House.

The four-plus acres are studded with tall ponderosa pines, aspens and maples and there's a majestic 90,000-gallon, man-made waterfall. On the lakeshore, is a sandy beach.

"In summertime it's heaven on earth," he said. "In winter, too, if you're a skier."

The entire compound can be purchased for just under $50 million. Or each of the four homes and a lakefront lot can be bought separately.
