Porsche executives insist that, even as the brand adds a second, smaller SUV, it is not straying from its sports car roots. The Macan, Porsche insists, will be the "sports car in its class." The base model, which will start at about $50,000, will have a 340 horsepower 3.0-liter engine while the Macan Turbo, which will cost about $72,000 to start, will have a 400 horsepower 3.6-liter engine.
