Ford's first post-war truck came out in 1948, a year before Ford's first post-war car. That tells you something about the importance of trucks, even then. Today, the two most popular vehicles sold in the United States are Ford and GM pick-up trucks. This truck also marked the beginning of the "F-series." Depending on their size and cargo capacity, Ford trucks were named F-1 through F-8.
