You don't need a business degree to become an investment banker at Morgan Stanley. A sizeable share of recruits are graduates with majors ranging from language to history to music. If you only have employees with finance degrees, the bank argues, you'll just get one kind of perspective. Morgan Stanley is looking for recruits with a broad view of the world and how it affects markets.

And for all you humanities majors who hate math, Morgan Stanley says its in-house training programs will help you get up to speed with financial modeling and anything else you need. --T.Z.
