A team of thieves hacked into banks around the globe, while foot soldiers withdrew massive sums from ATMs and bought luxury items with the stolen cash.

The New York cashing crew was only a small part of a massive operation that took place simultaneously around the world. The global scheme employed counterfeit prepaid debit cards as well as hacked bank account numbers and pins to make more than 40,000 ATM withdrawals in 27 different countries on six different continents.
