Goldman Sachs

Headquarters: New York, NY
No. of employees: 32,900

What makes it great: Goldman Sachs is a great place for power brokers -- its alumni include a U.S. Treasury Secretary, a White House chief of staff and a chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The investment banking and wealth management firm offers the chance to work with highly influential clients right off the bat. The hefty paychecks aren't bad either.

What they're looking for: The best candidates are inquisitive innovators with diverse experience, says spokesperson Leslie Shribman. They should also be able to articulate why they want to work at Goldman and build a career in the industry, Shribman says.
