Most towns would love to have Columbus's problem -- a labor shortage.Some of the companies in town have a number of open positions that the city is trying to help them fill, according to administrator Joe Mangiamelli. Its human resources department is even contacting factories that are closing to recruit idled workers. The unemployment rate in Columbus is below 4%, he said.
