'Like, a billion dollars'
Shortly after Groupon rebuffed Google's offer, Groupon raised $950 million in one of the largest financing rounds in tech industry history.
"Groupon Raises, Like, A Billion Dollars," the company crowed in its official press release. The money came from a laundry list of high-profile VCs:, Andreessen Horowitz, Battery Ventures, DST, Greylock Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Maverick Capital, Silver Lake and Technology Crossover Ventures.
