(Business 2.0) – Will handheld shipments slip for the ninth straight quarter? Sony, Hewlett-Packard, and PalmOne hope for better news as IDC releases its 2003 figures on Feb. 27. Though the slide has slowed--worldwide shipments were down 0.2 percent, to 2.52 million units, in the third quarter--consumers continue to prefer high-end cell phones to new PDAs.
