(Business 2.0) – With the federal deficit expected to reach a record $500 billion this year, the president will submit his estimated $2.3 trillion budget to Congress in early February. Debate over the effect of the government's debt load should be especially acute this time: The declining dollar suggests that capital markets are becoming uneasy about long-term budget shortfalls.
